Program
Shabolombi
One productive asset, a lifetime of self-reliance.
About this program
Shabolombi means “self-reliant”. Instead of short-term relief, we give a family the asset it needs to earn a steady income: a rickshaw instead of a daily rental, a sewing machine instead of day labour, or stock to open a small shop.
Empowering individuals to become self-reliant through asset distribution such as rickshaws, sewing machines, or inventory shops.
Shabolombi
What we provide
Rickshaw or van
An owned vehicle so the driver keeps the full day’s earnings instead of paying rent.
Sewing machine
For women who want to run a tailoring business from home.
Small shop stock
Starter inventory for a tea stall or grocery corner.
Livestock
Goats or cattle for rural families with space to raise them.
Who can receive support
- Families living below the poverty line without a steady source of income.
- At least one family member able and willing to run the business.
- Living in an area our field teams can visit for verification and follow-up.
How it works
- 1 Apply online and choose the asset that suits your skills.
- 2 A field team visits your home to understand your situation.
- 3 Approved families receive the asset at a handover with brief guidance.
- 4 Volunteers check in over the following months to help the business grow.
Help Shabolombi reach one more family.
